Forget what we said about Justin Bieber's impressive Spanish singing. He might sound sexy doing his rendition of 'Despacito', but it turns out he doesn't actually know the words.
On Tuesday, Biebs performed the track in New York but sang “blah, blah, blah” during most of the chorus. At one point he was shouting "Dorito" and "burrito", before attempting to get the crowd to sing for him, but they weren't having any of it.
'Despacito' is originally by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yanke. Released in January, it's huge in the Spanish speaking-world and has been streamed over one billion times on YouTube. But JB's version proved even more popular, hitting the number one spot all over the world, including the UK.
Selena Gomez & The Scene - Un Año Sin Lluvia (A Year Without Rain), 2010
Your ex did it first, sorry Biebs. Selena, whose father is Mexican, also appeared in a Spanish Pantene commercial earlier this year.
Shakira - Loba (She Wolf), 2009
Radio 1 were into this big time back in the day, as were we.
SchoolBoy Q ft. Kendrick Lamar - Collard Greens, 2013
There's no doubt everything Kendrick touches turns to gold. He has a blink-and-you'll-miss-it Spanish verse in this SchoolBoy Q track - just don't translate it.
Jennifer Lopez - Qué Hiciste (What did you do?), 2009
The Puerto Rican beauty learnt to speak Spanish fluently in the 90s, but it's no 'Jenny From the Block'.
Romeo Santos ft. Drake - Odio (Hate), 2014
Of course the smoothest man in music has given it a go.
Enrique Iglesias - Subeme La Radio (Turn up the radio), 2017
The original king of Spanish seduction is the gift that keeps on giving.
