Souvlaki is a dish that consists of meat and vegetables grilled on a skewer, and can be eaten directly from the skewer, or simply as a side dish.
The souvlaki can also be put in the pita bread, which is a leavened wheat bread, either round or oval, and perfectly flat.
The souvlaki and pita bread are one of the best combinations to try when you get hungry in Greece, with a lot of options to choose from. You can go for either pork, beef, chicken, or even swordfish. As toppings, you can choose tzatziki sauce, onion, lettuce, and many others. And everything will cost you around $6 per serving, so it’s a delicious meal at a low price!

There a lot of delicious street foods in Turkey, but the two of them considered the most popular are the Simit bread and Kokoreç.
The Simit Bread is usually eaten for breakfast, and it’s kind of a bigger bagel, and covered in sesame seeds, or sometimes poppy seeds.
Kokoreç (or Kokoretsi) is a dish made of lamb or goat intestines, often wrapping sweetbreads, hearts, lungs or kidneys. The ingredients are seasoned with lemon, olive oil, oregano, salt and pepper, and after they are threaded onto a long skewer, they are wrapped with the intestine to hold them together.
I know, it doesn’t sound so tasty, but it seems like people just love it. The meaty food is served on a piece of flat-bread, or in a baguette.

3. HOT DOGS – NEW YORK CITY

And welcome to New York, the city that never sleeps!
NYC’s famous hot dogs are world-wide known as one of the best street snacks ever. The cooked sausage is traditionally grilled or steamed and served in a sliced bun as a sandwich, along with mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, cheese, chilli, or onions.
Associated with baseball, and America, hot dogs became a popular food across all countries, the recipes differing.
Other variants of hot dogs include the Beanie Weenies, chopped and mixed with baked beans, or the ones where the corn dog is dipped in batter and deep fried.
So it doesn’t matter what hot dog you decide to go for, it’s a wise choice anyway!

4. SHISH KEBAB – MOROCCO

If your usual kebab consists of meat and fries, the Shish Kebab in Morocco might be an interesting dish to try.
The Shish kebab is traditionally made of lamb meat, but can also contain beef, chicken, pork and even fish meat.
The meat is cooked on a skewer and served with rice or in pita bread rolls or sandwiches, so it’s kind of… completely different than the usual European kebab.
Kebabs are very different in each and every country you visit, so whenever in Morocco, try this one as well, it cost less than $5 for a plate!

5. BHEL PURI – INDIA

One of the best street foods across the world is India’s Bhel Puri.
With an immense variety of street snack, India has nothing to complain about. From foods such aloo tikki (boiled potatoes and various spices) in the north to vada (fritter-type snack) in the south, there are plenty of options to choose from.
But today we are talking about bhel puri, (or bhelpuri), a delicious Indian snack made of puffed rice, fried vermicelli noodles, vegetables and a tangy tamarind sauce.
Mumbai is the best place to try this dish, and if you want, you can add some peanuts or pomegranate seeds as well. The bhelpuri is usually served in a paper folded in the form of a cone and is consumed using a paper spoon.

I’m still working on this, and hope there’ll be a part 2 of this post. Till then, eat and Share this post with all food lovers.
